I would like to take moment to congratulate my Black Copper Marans hen that just clocked in on her new egg laying job. Her first day on the job was very productive, as her first egg is not much smaller than the older Orpington hens. I look forward to seeing your progress in the future. We are pleased to have you on board! Job well done girl!

I love those dark eggs..Gotta get me some of them marans ; )
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you! The first egg out of a new chicken is just so fun! And, I love the color of the Maran eggs. I am still awaiting my huge chicken order (had to wait until May to get all the types of chickens 4 of us ordered together) that contains, among too many others (!), 4 Black Copper Marans for me. I won't get eggs probably until September or later, but then next summer, I should have a great mix of colors of eggs. And chickens! How old is the Maran that just laid for you, do you know?
ReplyDeleteScratch little Jasmine behind her goaty ears for me. Have a great day.
Oh, that is just so cool! Woo hoo! : )
ReplyDeleteWOW, the one with all the gold is really beautiful. Never thought I'd say that about a "chicken". Or would the more politically correct term be "hen"? I'm enjoying your's, and Henhouse Pottery's hen stories. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool, congrats to the new girl.
